Start a Troop

If there's no Little Scouts troop in your area, you can start your own! Here are the rules that your troop must comply with:
  • Little Scouts troops are for legal adults, age 18 or older.
  • You must hold meetings at least once every other month. (We suggest once a month at minimum.)
  • Meetings must include events that focus on fun, volunteering, and education.
  • You must have 10 badges that you offer. You can make up your own or use our list of 10 Core Badges.
  • You must offer a uniform consisting of a sash in any color that your troop likes and a unique troop number.
  • Your troop must be not-for-profit. This is essential in giving back to the community and paying it forward.
  • Your Little Scout troop is a representation of a bigger community. As Little Scouts, you should take on roles and become ambassadors for your area.
  • You must fly the Little Scouts flag, but you may also have your own, unique troop badge and various accessories if you like.
  • Little Scouts troops are inclusive and do not discriminate based on age play identity (Big, Little, Middle, babyfur, etc.), sex, race, orientation, political or religious affiliation, or any other identity.
  • You must have a way for others to contact you, be it a FetLife group or profile, website, blog, or email address.
  • You may not use any media or information copyrighted by other scout troops. (Camp Fire, Boy Scouts of America, etc.)

We strongly suggest that, instead of a single leader, your Little Scouts troop is guided by a group of at least four officers.

Once you've started organizing, fill out the form below to register your Little Scouts troop. Please make sure to add your troop name, troop number, your officers, and a troop bio and weblink. We can add you to the Little Scouts Central website after we receive the form!

What locality does your troop serve? The largest metropolitan city nearby may be a good choice.
Tell us a little about your Little Scouts Troop! How did you get started? What makes your troop unique?
You need to have a way for people to find out about, contact, and join your scout troop.
